Top Maps and Navigation Apps in Costa Rica Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, Costa Rica witnessed notable trends in the maps and navigation app category on a unified platform. According to data from Sensor Tower, the top five apps in this category showed varying patterns in downloads and active users.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads began at around 11.3K in early July and concluded at approximately 13.2K by the end of September, demonstrating a consistent upward trend. Active users started at about 292.6K, with a slight fluctuation, ending the quarter close to 299.9K.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw fairly steady weekly downloads, starting at 10.6K and ending at 10.5K, with minor variations throughout the quarter. Meanwhile, active users increased from 221.5K to around 227.7K, indicating stable user engagement.

Phone Tracker experienced a dynamic quarter with downloads peaking at 19.2K in mid-August before declining to under 1K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 536 and reaching a peak of 37.1K, then stabilizing around 32.9K.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides showed a gradual increase in both downloads and active users. Downloads began at 7.9K, peaking at 9K at the end of the quarter. Active users consistently rose from 239.7K to 263.3K, reflecting growing popularity.

inDrive. Save on city rides had a steady performance with a slight increase in downloads from 5.5K to 5.8K. Active users showed a minor decline from 68K to about 59.2K over the quarter.
